Changes in CRCs in 2020

Postby tabbycat » Sat Jun 16, 2018 3:18 pm

News this week:
Ministers are looking to terminate contracts two years early after concluding that they are unlikely to work. The 21 CRCs will be reduced to about 14 and new tenders will be issued to run the bigger areas. The Ministry of Justice says that the decision was made after it was disclosed that some offenders were monitored with one brief telephone call every six weeks. The MoJ says," All options remain on the table".

Which gives scant hope for much change. Maybe 2 phone calls a week will be deemed "acceptable". Am so sick of this ideological obsession with privatisation!

Sadly our campaigns were inadequate and we have again been let down by Parliament.
